IntercontinentalExchange’s Equity Options Volumes Fall In July
IntercontinentalExchange saw a 25% year on year (y-o-y) dip in its equity options volume in July, attributable to the decline in the industry-wide equity options daily trading volume (-11% y-o-y) in the U.S., coupled with a 3% fall in its equity options market share. For the year so far, the volumes have largely remained flat in comparison to the previous year.
Owing to the increased competition, we expect the ICE’s market share in equity options to continue shrinking, in continuation with the decline in the year so far. The table below breaks down these figures for the month:
