Jazz Pharmaceuticals (JAZZ) stock returned 71.1% in the year to November 6, 2026, against 9.8% for the S&P 500. On its November 2026 call, management credited the launches of the company’s cancer medicines for much of its sales growth. So what had Jazz already made public about those cancer medicines before November 2025?

What Jazz Disclosed About Its Cancer Drugs In 2025

The first sign emerged on June 2, 2025. Jazz announced that patients in its IMforte study with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer had a 46% lower risk of disease progression or death when given Zepzelca with atezolizumab as maintenance treatment. A week later, the FDA granted the combination priority review and set a target date of October 7, 2025. Anyone following the company now had a dated decision for the exact treatment use management would later credit.

The pattern continued from there. On August 5, 2025, the FDA granted accelerated approval to Modeyso, the first treatment for a rare and aggressive brain tumor that affects an estimated 2,000 people in the U.S. each year. The FDA then approved the Zepzelca combination on October 2, 2025, and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network listed it as a preferred regimen. Both approvals were public before November 5, 2025.

These early signs were approvals, not sales. Jazz reported revenue in the quarter ended June 2025 of $1.05 billion, up only 2.1% from a year earlier. Revenue for the previous quarter came in slightly below its year-earlier level. The shares were not standing still either. The stock rose 35.3% between May 7 and November 5, 2025, meaning it was already climbing before the year to November 6, 2026 began.

How Much Had Jazz’s Cancer Sales Grown By 2026?

By the third quarter of 2026, Jazz’s oncology revenue was growing 35% from a year earlier, compared with 10.4% for the company’s revenue as a whole. Management said the launches of Modeyso and of Zepzelca as a first-line maintenance treatment provided that growth. Zepzelca sales rose 32% to $104 million in the quarter, and Modeyso had brought in about $200 million since its launch.

Zepzelca, for one, is still small compared to the rest of Jazz. Zepzelca made up about 8% of the company’s $1.24 billion in revenue that quarter, while the sleep medicine Xywav brought in $483 million. The stock run was also not unique to Jazz. Biogen, one of its peers, returned 61.9% over the same year. Two other peers lagged far behind both, with Harmony Biosciences up 5.6% and Axsome Therapeutics down 2.4%.

Are Jazz’s Cancer Launches Still Gathering Pace?

Only partly, by management’s own account of the two drugs that were visible early. On its November 2, 2026 call, management said it expects a more measured revenue pace for Modeyso in the near term, ahead of survival data from its ACTION trial. It also said a competitor’s expected launch in 2027 is likely to hurt Zepzelca sales.

The newer launch is Ziihera, which the FDA approved on August 25, 2026 as a first-line treatment for HER2-positive gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma. Ziihera brought in $21 million in the third quarter. That figure also covers an earlier use. Ziihera was already sold as a second-line treatment for another cancer, and Jazz does not split its sales by cancer type. Separately, the company’s shares have slipped since early August, losing 8.5% between August 10 and November 6, 2026, while the S&P 500 fell 4.6%.

Oncology revenue growth will be the figure to watch when Jazz next reports, expected in February 2027. The ACTION trial results for Modeyso are due in the first half of 2027.
