Howmet Aerospace (HWM) stock rose 6.9% on Monday, November 2, 2026, while the S&P 500 fell 0.5%. The gain came two sessions after the company reported third-quarter results on October 29 that beat estimates for both adjusted earnings per share and revenue. On Monday, two of its peers, TransDigm and ATI, rose almost as much. So what did Howmet report on October 29?

What Did Howmet Report On October 29?

Howmet reported third-quarter revenue of $2.7 billion against an analyst estimate of $2.59 billion, alongside adjusted earnings per share of $1.46 against an estimate of $1.37.

Management also raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $10.3 billion plus or minus $10 million, and offered a first outlook for 2027 for revenue of about $11.5 billion. Gas turbine revenue grew 45% in the quarter, which management said showed both added output and a larger market share.

A news report that day linked the stock’s 5.5% rise on October 29 to the results and the higher guidance. The shares then fell 3.3% the next session before Monday’s gain.

Did Howmet Rise On Its Own On Monday?

No. All five companies on Howmet’s Trefis peer list rose the same session, though none by as much as Howmet. TransDigm gained 5.8% and ATI rose 5.3%. A news report on Monday said ATI’s third-quarter earnings had beaten estimates on aerospace demand. The other three rose by less than half of Howmet’s gain.

The wider Industrials sector rose too, with the sector fund XLI gaining 1.4% while the S&P 500 fell. Howmet moved the same way as its peers and its sector on Monday, rising more than any of them.

Where Howmet Stock Stands After The Gain

No session in the prior 365 days brought Howmet a rise this large. Its last move of this size was a 7.1% fall on October 22. If you held the stock over the twelve months to November 2, you earned 5.8%, against 11.8% for the S&P 500.

The weak stretch is recent. Howmet fell 26.1% over the three months to November 2, while the S&P 500 lost 2.3%. The stock closed Monday at $212.99, remaining well below its 52-week closing high of $292.65 on August 18. Its 52-week closing low of $185.91 came on October 23.

Howmet trades at 8.7 times its trailing twelve-month sales, against 3.3 times for the S&P 500. The company is expected to report its fourth-quarter results in February 2027. Fourth-quarter revenue will be the number to watch, set against the guidance of about $2.75 billion, plus or minus $10 million, that management gave on the October 29 call.

Does This Mean You Should Act On HWM?

Our purpose is to inform you with unique data so you make the right investment decisions. That said, betting on a single stock is always risky, no matter which direction you choose.

There is a smarter approach. Since its inception, the Trefis High Quality (HQ) Portfolio has returned 105%, beating the benchmark that combines the three major indices – the S&P 500, S&P Mid-cap, and Russell 2000. And it did so without taking the concentrated risk that comes with do-it-yourself stock picking. If that is how you want to invest, the HQ Portfolio is the place to start.
