Oracle Earnings Preview: What We’re Watching
Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) is expected to announce its fiscal year Q4 2011 earnings on June 23rd. Over the last few quarters, Oracle has increased its profit margins by converting its loss making Sun’s products to profits. We discussed this in an earlier note titled Oracle – Profitability is the Focus. In the upcoming earnings release, we will look to see what Oracle has to say on the profitability front as well listen for updates on how its Exadata and Exalogic products are faring in the market. These products saw revenue growth of over 50% sequentially in the last quarter, something we discussed in another note titled Exadata and Exalogic Driving Oracle’s Growth. Higher profitability and revenue growth gives Oracle an edge over competitors SAP (NYSE:SAP), Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), IBM (NYSE:IBM) and HP (NYSE:HPQ) in the software and hardware market.
Our near $38 price estimate for Oracle stock is about 20% above market price.
