Hewlett-Packard’s (NYSE:HPQ) desktop revenues have declined over the past few years as a secular decline in desktop sales continues.  IDC reported that the decline in PC sales have continued in first half of the year 2016. During H12016, the global PC shipment declined by 8% to 122 million. [1] Trefis projects that this downturn in PC sales will continue to impact desktop sales, which will make up 42% of total PC shipment in 2016. As a result, we expect that its desktop revenues will decline by 9.5% in 2016 to $9.5 billion.  However, HPQ’s share in global desktop shipment will improve by 100 basis points to 18.8%, demonstrating the resilience of its Desktop product.
