What Was Going On Among DexCom’s Peers?

Tandem Diabetes Care had its own news. During its third-quarter earnings call, Tandem reported 14% revenue growth and announced a change of chief executive. A summary of the call published on November 6 showed the company also said a slower-than-expected shift to pharmacy distribution could weigh on its revenue growth in 2027.

DexCom sells into the same diabetes market. Its devices work alongside insulin pumps, and management said on its October 29 call that the company’s G7 15 Day system has had broad pump connectivity since this summer. The U.S. accounts for most of DexCom’s sales, bringing in $970 million of its $1.34 billion in third-quarter revenue. That U.S. revenue grew 14% from a year earlier, and management said the company kept taking share there.

Did DexCom Fall With Its Peers?

It did, falling alongside the two peers that dropped the hardest. Insulet went down 6.2% and Tandem Diabetes Care lost 6.0%, keeping close to DexCom’s own fall. Abbott Laboratories and Medtronic fell less, while Senseonics Holdings was the one peer to rise.

Health care as a whole barely moved. XLV, the fund that tracks the sector, slipped 0.1%, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.1%. The fall was concentrated in DexCom and a few of its peers, rather than spreading across the sector or the market.

Where DexCom Stock Stands Now

A fall this large is rare for DexCom, happening in only one other session over the prior 365 days. Moves of this size in either direction are more common, with eight in that time. The latest came on November 4, when the stock rose 6.6%. The shares then fell 4.5% on November 5, the session before this one.

The shares still returned 34.0% over the past twelve months, compared with 9.8% for the S&P 500. Their lowest close in that time was $54.84 on November 10, 2025, and their highest was $92.34 on August 21, 2026. Over the past three months, the stock lost 9.4%, while the S&P 500 fell 4.6%.

You pay more for DexCom’s sales than for the market’s. The stock trades at 5.8 times its revenue over the past twelve months, against 3.1 times for the S&P 500.

DexCom is expected to report its fiscal Q4 2026 results in February 2027. The figure to watch is revenue growth for that quarter, which management’s guidance implies is 10% at the midpoint. That compares with total revenue growth of 11% in the third quarter.
