DoorDash (DASH) stock climbed 6.2% on Monday, November 2, 2026, while the S&P 500 fell 0.5%. On October 29, the company released its quarterly results and agreed to acquire Instacart. It then filed its quarterly report with the SEC on October 30, so those results were already public before Monday’s gain. So what did those results show?

DoorDash posted revenue of $4.62 billion for fiscal Q3 2026, the quarter ended September 30, marking a 34.0% increase from a year earlier. Operating margin, representing the share of sales left after running the business, expanded to 9.6% from 7.5% the prior year. In its October 29 release, the company said the quarter set new records for revenue and net income.
That same day, DoorDash agreed to purchase the online grocery platform Instacart for an equity value of about $17 billion, at least 75% of it in cash. The stock had already risen 5.6% on October 29, a gain news reports linked to the deal, before closing flat on October 30.
On November 2, news reports said DoorDash had begun offering $12 meal deals in some cities: full meals from local restaurants, with no delivery fees.
Other Consumer Stocks Rose, But Less Than DoorDash
DoorDash climbed alongside its group that day, but advanced further. All five companies on its peer list gained, including Walmart, up 3.4%, and Uber, up 2.2%. The SPDR fund for consumer discretionary stocks, XLY, advanced 2.4% during a session when the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.1%. Consumer stocks moved up while the wider market slipped, and DoorDash’s gain amounted to more than twice that of the sector fund.
Over Twelve Months, DoorDash Stock Is Down
Investors holding DoorDash stock from October 30, 2025 to November 2, 2026 lost 25.2%, trailing the S&P 500’s 11.8% return. Its highest close since November 3, 2025 came that day, at $242.05, and its lowest was $146.60 on March 27, 2026. Shares have partly recovered since hitting that low. From May 4 to November 2 they returned 10.1%, though they lost 6.1% from August 4.
A rise this large is uncommon for DoorDash. It happened in four sessions over the prior 365 days. Including declines, the stock’s latest move at least this large was a 7.7% fall on September 28, 2026.
At the November 2 close, DoorDash traded at a valuation of 4.8 times its sales over the past twelve months, compared with 3.3 times for the S&P 500. The company is expected to report its fiscal Q4 2026 results in February 2027, and its operating margin is the measure to watch in that report.
