CDW (CDW) stock rose 12.7% on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, outperforming the S&P 500, which gained 1.6%. The advance came the same day the company reported its third-quarter results and raised its forecast for full-year earnings growth. How much better than expected was the quarter?

CDW Beat Estimates On Earnings And Revenue

CDW posted fiscal Q3 2026 adjusted earnings per share of $3.26, ahead of the $2.98 analysts expected. Revenue reached $6.75 billion, beating estimates of $6.19 billion and coming in 17.7% higher than what CDW sold a year earlier.

During the November 4 call, management said hardware sales rose 21%, helped by AI-related investment, and that sales of data storage and servers more than doubled. CDW earned a thinner margin on that mix, however, as gross margin fell to 20.5% from 21.9% a year earlier. Management attributed the decline to large infrastructure projects with more hardware in them.

Management also raised its outlook. The company now expects non-GAAP earnings per share to grow at a low double-digit rate in 2026, up from high single digits before. It said written orders continue to outpace invoicing and that backlog is building, particularly in enterprise infrastructure. The company also raised its quarterly dividend by about 8%, to $0.68 a share.

Did Similar Stocks Rise As Much As CDW?

No. The day’s gains largely belonged to CDW alone. While four of the five companies on its Trefis peer list rose, they logged much smaller advances. Insight Enterprises gained 4.9% and Accenture added 3.8%, while EPAM Systems slipped. The technology sector fund XLK ended the session flat.

Where Does CDW Stock Stand After The Rise?

CDW had not seen a daily increase this large in the prior 365 days. The stock’s last move of this size in either direction was a 20.3% fall on May 6, 2026. Six days later, on May 12, shares reached their lowest close of the past year at $99.30.

Measuring from that May 6 close, CDW has returned 56.5%, compared to 5.0% for the S&P 500. The stock finished the November 4 session at $168.75, logging its highest close in the past year. Over the full twelve months, CDW returned 21.5%, ahead of the index’s 14.9%.

CDW is expected to report its fiscal Q4 2026 results in February 2027. The measure to watch then will be gross profit, which management expects to grow at a mid-single-digit rate from a year earlier in that quarter.
