Salesforce.com announced Chatter Now, which will add realtime chat to the Chatter application similar to that on Google’s Gmail. It enables Chatter users to directly collaborate with their colleagues when they are online. It also added a screen sharing feature for Chatter users as well as group creation, which will allow Chatter users to create and collaborate in private groups. Chatter will also integrate with Microsoft Sharepoint allowing users to to share files in Sharepoint using Chatter.

Besides driving additional sales for Chatter, we expect these features to attract customers other Salesforce.com products which are tightly integrated with each other providing ample room for for cross selling opportunities. Additionally, Salesforce.com also launched HTML5 versions of all its applications so that they can now be accessed from multiple platforms, which should drive an increase in user adoption.
