What Could Vertiv Stock Be Worth In Three Years?
Vertiv (VRT) sells power and cooling equipment to data centers. The stock has dropped 29.2% since July 20—compounding losses for investors who bought near the May high, even as the S&P 500 gained 3.2% over that same stretch. Those watching from the sidelines may wonder whether the shares are now worth a look. If Vertiv keeps growing the way it has, what would a share be worth in three years?

Vertiv Shares Could Be Worth About 57% More
Under this scenario, a Vertiv share would reach about $323.68 in three years, against $206.42 at the October 16, 2026 close. This projection represents an upside of 56.8%, translating to about 16.2% a year before dividends. This outcome assumes revenue grows at 0.85 times Vertiv’s latest twelve-month growth rate, alongside a P/E that stays at today’s level.
Here is how the last twelve months compare with the scenario:
| Today | In three years (scenario) | |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | $11.5 billion | $21.0 billion |
| Net margin | 15.1% | 12.9% |
| Earnings | $1.73 billion | $2.72 billion |
| P/E | 45.8 | 45.8 |
| Share price | $206.42 | $323.68 |
All of the projected gain relies on Vertiv selling more. The benefit from higher revenue actually exceeds the total upside figure. A lower net margin gives back part of that gain, and none of the increase comes from the P/E.
Most of the company’s business involves physical hardware. The Products segment sold $8.21 billion in fiscal 2025, a 31.4% increase from a year earlier, compared with $2.02 billion from Services & spares. Management stated on the July 29 call that demand is broad based across customer categories, pointing specifically to its work with NVIDIA on AI data centers.

Vertiv Has To Keep Its Data Center Orders Growing
Vertiv has to keep winning orders for this gain to materialize. Management noted on the fiscal Q2 2026 call that it expects another year of robust orders growth. Some revenue in that quarter shifted to later periods because of multiphase project execution and temporary supply chain congestion.
Executives raised the fiscal 2026 net sales guide on July 29, shifting the midpoint to $14.0 billion from $13.8 billion. That guide implies 36.9% growth over fiscal 2025, compared with 22.3% a year in the scenario. Vertiv’s growth over the last twelve months already sits below the guide. Furthermore, the scenario models a slower expansion rate than that for three years, while the company guide covers just one fiscal year.
How Does Vertiv’s Upside Change Under Other Assumptions?
Each row below changes one assumption and keeps the others as in the scenario:
| If instead | Upside |
|---|---|
| Nothing changes (the scenario) | 56.8% |
| Revenue growth of 20.3% a year instead of 22.3% | 49.2% |
| Net margin of 7.9% in year three instead of 12.9% | -4.1% |
| 5 years at the same assumptions instead of 3 | 134.5% |
| First-year revenue growth of 36.9% (management’s fiscal 2026 guide) instead of 22.3% | 75.5% |
Vertiv currently operates at its highest net margin in 26 quarter ends dating back to fiscal Q1 2020. That margin hit 15.1% over the twelve months to fiscal Q2 2026, rising from 8.9% over the twelve months a year earlier. In the scenario, the margin three years out equals 70% of today’s level plus 30% of its average at earlier quarter ends, so the margin ultimately falls.
The scenario keeps the share count fixed at today’s level. Yet Vertiv’s diluted share count rose 2.7% from fiscal Q2 2023 to fiscal Q2 2026. A rising share count leaves each individual share with less than the scenario displays.
Revenue growth could slow to 5.3% a year from 26.2% in the twelve months to fiscal Q2 2026 before three years of owning the stock return nothing. The net margin three years on could fall to 8.2% from 15.1% today to yield the same flat return. The P/E could also drop to 29.2 from 45.8 today with the same result.
Vertiv’s next report covers fiscal Q3 2026. The measure to watch in that release is the company’s net margin over the latest twelve months.
