We have compared the CapEx of the top three automakers in the world, which make up one-third of the global volumes. Volkswagen AG (OTCMKTS:VLKAY) leads its competition when it comes to CapEx as a % of revenue, however, its net investment (CapEx- D&A) tells a different story. Negative net investment means that the asset base has shrunk, i.e. the company is not spending enough to increase productive capacity.
