Rocket Companies (RKT) stock rose 7.6% on Monday, November 2, 2026, while the S&P 500 fell 0.5%. The advance came one session after the mortgage lender’s October 30 quarterly SEC filing, which came a day after it released third-quarter results. News reports linked a rally in rate-sensitive housing stocks, Rocket among them, to falling Treasury yields. Three of its five listed peers also gained. So what did Rocket report for a quarter in which mortgage rates climbed?

Rocket Says It Gained Share As Mortgage Rates Climbed
During its October 29 call, Rocket told investors it won a larger share of both home purchase and refinance lending in a difficult third quarter. Management said the 30-year fixed mortgage rate started the quarter at 6.4% and rose to 7.3% by the end of September, and industry applications were down 23% from the second-quarter average.
Based on its own estimates, Rocket’s share of purchase loans approached 6.5%, up from 6.2% in the second quarter. Its refinance share reached 15.5%, against 14.3%. Adjusted revenue was $2.6 billion, landing near the midpoint of the company’s guidance. Net income was $709 million, against a loss of $124 million a year earlier. On management’s adjusted measure, net income was $419 million.
Management said more than 70% of its 2026 revenue comes from less rate-sensitive sources, among them servicing fees and home equity loans. Rocket calls itself the largest servicer in the country, and servicing brought in $1 billion of fee income in the quarter. Still, management expects the refinance market to decline by almost half in the fourth quarter from the third.
Did Rocket Move With Its Peers And Sector?
Yes, though Rocket rose further than any of them. The financial sector fund XLF gained 1.9% the same session. News reports said that financial stocks climbed while falling oil prices eased worries about inflation and high interest rates.
Among the peers, loanDepot rose 4.9%, Zillow 4.5% and PennyMac Financial Services 3.8%. UWM ended flat, while SoFi Technologies slipped. Rocket moved in the same direction as its sector and most of its peers, doing so by a wider margin.
Where Rocket Stock Stands Now
A gain this large is not unusual for Rocket. The stock had seven sessions with a rise at least this big in the prior 365 days, most recently a 9.4% gain on June 24, 2026. Monday’s move also followed a 7.4% rise on Friday, October 30.
Rocket closed at $10.53 on October 14, its lowest close of the past year. Over the month to November 2 it returned 17.7%, while the S&P 500 lost 2.3%. Over the full twelve months, Rocket lost 13.6%, against an 11.8% return for the index. The stock sits well below its highest close of $23.44, set on January 15, 2026.
The shares trade at 3.7 times Rocket’s sales over the last twelve months, against 3.3 times for the S&P 500. Rocket reports its fourth quarter next. The figure to watch is adjusted revenue, which management guided to $2.1 billion to $2.3 billion.
