Honeywell Aerospace (HONA) shares fell 9.6% on Thursday, October 29, 2026, while the S&P 500 slipped 0.3%. The decline followed the company’s October 28 report, in which third-quarter results topped analysts’ estimates for both adjusted earnings per share and revenue. Management also updated its 2026 outlook in the release. The stock had risen 5.4% on October 28, and the earnings calendar does not say whether the report came before the open or after the close. The results release itself went out at 4:05 p.m. on October 28, after that session ended, so Thursday was the first session to trade on it. How far ahead of estimates was the quarter, and what did management expect next?

Honeywell Aerospace Topped Estimates And Sees Lower Fourth-Quarter Margin
Revenue of $4.64 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $2.21 both topped estimates, which had called for $4.57 billion and $1.87, respectively. Management said organic sales grew 2.4% from a year earlier. Management said this result came in ahead of its own expectation for flat to slightly higher sales.
Customer demand continued to run ahead of what suppliers could deliver, management said, and the backlog rose 12% from a year earlier to more than $19 billion. These supply limits weighed most heavily on the Defense & Space business.
Management raised its 2026 forecast for adjusted earnings per share to a range of $7.85 to $8. The company cited lower costs than it had expected, as a new public company, for items counted after operating profit. It maintained its forecast for organic sales growth in 2026 at 4% to 5%, but management said fourth-quarter organic sales would come in modestly below that range.
Third-quarter adjusted EBIT, the operating profit measure management uses, was $1.2 billion. This included about $50 million of net tariff refunds, which added more than one percentage point to the margin. Management had already included those refunds in the second-half forecast it gave in August. The company expects no such refunds for the fourth quarter, and management said its margin should look more like the first half of the year’s. Management said the lack of refunds would be a drag of more than one percentage point on the margin compared with the third quarter.
Industrial Stocks Rose As Honeywell Aerospace Fell

Among the companies on its Trefis peer list, Lyntris (LYNX) rose 8.6% and NorthStar Earth & Space Enterprises (NSTR) fell 8.2%, showing that its peers did not move as one.
