Can CrowdStrike Stock Rally 50% After This Dip?

CrowdStrike (CRWD) stock has fallen 13.6% since its October 6 high, while the S&P 500 lost 1.6%. Declines of this size tempt buyers. A 50% rally has followed earlier falls, but a similar recovery today depends on sales growth holding up while the stock trades at a valuation far above the market’s. Following eight past falls of more than 20%, the stock’s highest price within a year of each fall was a median 59.9% above its price on the day of the drop. So how did buyers of those earlier falls end the year?

How Did CrowdStrike Stock Do After Past Falls?
Most buyers of those falls ended the year ahead. CrowdStrike stock has fallen more than 20% over 30 trading days nine times since June 2019. A full year has passed since eight of those falls, and the stock traded higher 12 months later in six of those cases. The median one-year gain across all eight was 18.5%. The ninth, in February 2026, is too recent to judge.
Buyers also sat through a further slide along the way. The lowest closing price in the year after each fall was a median 34.2% below the stock’s price on the day of the initial drop. The highest price arrived a median 228 days, or about seven and a half months, after the fall.

CrowdStrike Grows Faster But Still Runs An Operating Loss
CrowdStrike’s revenue rose 25.8% from a year earlier in fiscal Q2 2027, up from 21.3% growth in fiscal Q2 2026. Subscription sales accounted for 94.9% of revenue in fiscal 2026, with professional services making up the rest.
The business also generates cash. CrowdStrike turned 36.1% of its fiscal Q2 2027 revenue into cash from operations. The company held $5.01 billion of cash and short-term investments at the end of July, against $820 million of debt.
Profit is where CrowdStrike falls short. Based on reported figures, the company lost money from operations over the last twelve months, posting an operating margin of minus 2.2% compared with 18.7% for the S&P 500. Investors pay a high price for the growth all the same. The stock trades at 45.5 times its sales over those twelve months, against 3.2 times for the S&P 500. For every $100 of CrowdStrike stock, the company produced about 62 cents of free cash flow over that period.
What Would A CrowdStrike Buyer Need From Here?
Buyers need sales to keep growing fast enough to support the stock’s current multiple of sales. That multiple has been far lower in the past, with CrowdStrike selling for 12.1 times its sales at the end of 2022. Management expects the growth to continue. The company raised its fiscal 2027 revenue forecast in August to a midpoint of $6,001 million, up from $5,937 million in June. For fiscal Q3 2027, management guided to revenue of $1,523 million to $1,529 million.
Buyers usually ended the year ahead after CrowdStrike’s past sharp falls, though they sat through a further slide along the way. The company is growing faster than it was a year ago and producing strong cash flow, yet it still runs an operating loss while its stock trades at a valuation far above the market’s. Buying now means expecting that growth to hold. CrowdStrike’s revenue against its third-quarter guide is the number to watch when the company reports in December 2026.
