Airbnb (ABNB) stock rose 11.7% on Friday, November 6, 2026, while the S&P 500 gained 0.3%. The rise came the day after the company reported its third-quarter results on November 5 and raised its revenue growth outlook for 2026. So how much did Airbnb raise its forecast, and what in the quarter was behind it?

How Much Did Airbnb Raise Its Forecast?
On the November 5 call, management said Airbnb now expects revenue to grow by a high-teens percentage in 2026. That is up from the expectation of at least the mid-teens a quarter earlier, and low double-digit growth at the start of the year. That upbeat outlook helped lift the stock.
To understand the higher forecast, it helps to look at how Airbnb earns money. When a guest books a stay, the full price counts toward gross booking value, and Airbnb keeps a share of it as revenue. Management put that share at 17.6% in the third quarter, down slightly from a year earlier.
Bookings grew faster than in the prior quarter. Gross booking value rose 21% to $27.7 billion, and management said growth sped up in all five of the company’s core markets. Revenue reached $4.87 billion, against the $4.75 billion analysts had expected. Management noted that this was 18.9% more than a year earlier, marking the fastest revenue growth in more than three years. On the same call, the company also announced a new $12 billion share buyback program.
Did Other Travel Stocks Rise With Airbnb?
No, Airbnb rose on its own. Two of its five Trefis peers fell sharply during the same session, with Expedia dropping 4.9% and Booking Holdings declining 4.8%. The other three, Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide and Hyatt Hotels, moved less than half a percent either way. The consumer discretionary sector fund, XLY, slipped 0.1%, while the broader market edged up.
Airbnb Stock Now Sits Near Its 52-Week High
A one-day rise this large is rare for Airbnb. In the prior 365 days, the stock had risen this much in a single session once, by 17.4% on August 7, 2026. Friday’s close of $189.99 sits just below the stock’s 52-week closing high of $190.50, set on August 25, 2026.
Over the past 12 months, the stock returned 55.1%, against 9.8% for the S&P 500. Its lowest close in that time was $111.54 on November 20, 2025. In the past month alone, the stock returned 16.4% from October 8 to November 6, 2026, while the S&P 500 lost 4.9%.
Airbnb’s next report covers the fourth quarter of 2026. When the company reports in February 2027, the figure to watch will be fourth-quarter revenue, which management guided to $3.22 billion to $3.28 billion.
