NASDAQ’s equity options volume saw a 26% y-o-y increase in August. A 30% surge in the exchange’s U.S. volumes is in sync with the upward trend for the past 6 months. However, for the year so far, the European volumes have been declining consistently after a good start. Owing to increased competition and mixed market conditions, we expect the volumes to continue declining in Europe.
