Daimler Innovates With Trucks To Haul Stock To $72

Mercedes-Benz, owned by Daimler AG (NYSE:DAI), is launching a truck series named Antos that is designed specifically for the short-radius distribution transport industry. The truck series will be available in a plethora of options to appeal to a wide range of consumers having a variegated set of requirements. Daimler AG has also stepped up its focus on Indian market for trucks recently with the company planning to launch a truck line tailored to the needs of Indian consumers.

Mecedes-Benz plans to launch its short radius trucks called Antos later in the year. The trucks offer improved maneuverability designed to meet the requirements of short-radius distribution industry. [1]

The Mercedes Antos will be available in a total of 67 different wheelbase lengths, with axle spacing ranging from 2,650mm to 6,700 mm. The truck series will be powered by BlueEfficiency Euro 6 engines and available in 13 power categories ranging from 238 hp to 510 hp and are likely to appeal to consumers in sectors such as food industry where the requirement is for a vehicle which is easy to operate and offering a broad spectrum of engine power which can cope with varying loads and conditions. Antos will be offered as either a platform truck or a tractor unit and will be available in two different cabin sizes. [2]

Recently, the company also unveiled its plans to launch 18 new models in India within the next 18 months under the name BharatBenz. To build the line of trucks, the company has invested $850 million in a facility in India, which is Daimler’s largest greenfield investment outside of Europe. Daimler is positioning these trucks as highly efficient, low maintenance vehicles that can withstand tough environmental conditions.
