Vertiv (VRT) stock jumped 16.5% on October 28, 2026, the day the company reported its fiscal Q3 2026 results and raised its full-year guidance. Buyers appear to be betting that data center demand keeps Vertiv growing far faster than most companies. For that to hold, customers must keep ordering its power and cooling equipment, and the company’s factories must produce it. So how much new business did Vertiv take on in the quarter?

Vertiv’s Orders More Than Doubled In Fiscal Q3 2026
Management said on the October 28 call that Vertiv’s organic orders in fiscal Q3 2026 were more than 100% higher than a year earlier. Organic sales grew about 55% in the same quarter, so orders rose far faster than sales. Management also said customers place orders about 12 to 18 months ahead, which suggests the fiscal Q3 2026 orders will feed sales well into 2027.
Vertiv’s sales are rising as well. Revenue was $4.31 billion in fiscal Q3 2026, up 61.2% from a year earlier, and management said every region came in above its guidance for the quarter. Acquisitions added about 6 points on top of the organic growth, management said. It then raised its full-year sales guidance by $650 million, to $14.7 billion at the midpoint. That is a forecast, not a result.
Can Vertiv’s Factories Keep Up With Demand?
So far, Vertiv’s new capacity is arriving. Its new factory in Johor, Malaysia, began operating in fiscal Q3 2026. Management’s target is to double chiller production capacity by the end of 2026, a goal it said Vertiv is on track to meet. The company is also expanding its Slovakia campus and has announced new facilities in the Americas. Management said it keeps signing long-term capacity agreements with key suppliers as well.
That capacity serves most of the company. Products, the equipment Vertiv sells, made up 80.2% of its fiscal 2025 revenue, and services and spares made up the rest. Product revenue grew 31.4% that year, against 14.5% for services and spares.
Investors have already paid up for that growth, though less than they did in the spring. Vertiv stock closed on October 30, 2026, at 38.2% below its May 14 high. Over the past year it still returned 16.8%, against 11.3% for the S&P 500. At 42.7 times its last twelve months of earnings, against 22.6 for the S&P 500, the price appears to assume that Vertiv keeps growing far faster than the market.
What Could Slow Vertiv Down?
Management named power availability, permitting and the supply of skilled labor on construction sites as things that can hold back data center demand. Management added that these items are not slowing Vertiv’s own growth. It still said that demand is accelerating, and that its pipelines and order book look good.
Fiscal Q3 sales also got a lift from about $100 million to $150 million in revenue delayed from the second quarter, management said. Investors will no longer see whether orders keep running ahead of sales, as management will stop sharing orders data. On the call, management said it expects continued significant above-market organic sales growth in 2027. It gave no figures and said it would give guidance for that year once fiscal Q4 2026 is over.
If orders slow or Vertiv’s factories fall behind, Vertiv’s sales would not grow at the pace its price appears to assume. So far, Vertiv is turning orders into higher sales, and its new capacity is coming online. Investors will now find it harder to see whether customers keep ordering at this pace. Vertiv’s sales guidance for 2027 is the figure to watch, and the company is expected to report its fiscal Q4 2026 results in February 2027.
