Roblox (RBLX) stock fell 18.1% on Friday, October 30, 2026, while the S&P 500 lost 1.8%. The decline followed the company’s third-quarter results, released after the close on Thursday, October 29, which showed fewer daily users than a year earlier. How large was the decline in users, and what does Roblox expect for the holiday quarter?

Roblox Reported Fewer Users And Forecast Lower Holiday Bookings
Roblox recorded 138 million daily active users in the third quarter, down 9% from a year earlier. Hours spent on the platform fell 15% from a year earlier to 34 billion. Management said on the October 29 call, however, that users rose 12% against the second quarter. News reports tied the drop from a year earlier to tougher child-safety measures that Roblox rolled out.
Revenue for the quarter reached $1.57 billion. That fell short of the $1.63 billion analysts had expected. The company narrowed its net loss to $227 million from $256 million a year earlier. Management said bookings finished above the high end of its own guidance, helped mainly by retention and engagement, and that engagement hours rose 17% from the second quarter.
For the holiday quarter, management expects bookings to fall 10% to 15% from a year earlier. That forecast includes a modest hit from the release of a new GTA game during the quarter, which one news report identified as GTA VI. News reports linked Friday’s fall to the shrinking user base and to that holiday outlook.
Did Other Stocks Fall As Far As Roblox?
Other stocks fell that Friday, but by far less. The communication services sector fund, XLC, lost 1.3% as U.S. stocks slid after disappointing results from Amazon and Intel, news reports said. Microsoft, Take-Two Interactive, Unity Software, Meta Platforms and Snap, the companies we track as Roblox’s peers, all fell between 1.5% and 6.0%. Roblox’s drop was about three times Snap’s, the largest among them.
Where Roblox Stock Stands After The Drop
Roblox has experienced two other falls this large in the past year, most recently a 26.9% drop on July 31, 2026. Since its close on October 29, 2025, the stock has lost 67.9%, while the S&P 500 has returned 11.3%.
The shares closed at $42.99, finishing well below their 52-week closing high of $113.72 set on October 31, 2025, and nearer their low of $35.54 on August 12, 2026. The stock gained 17.2% from August 3 to Friday’s close, and Friday’s drop left it about where it started October.
Roblox is expected to report its fourth-quarter results in February 2027. Daily active users against a year earlier are the measure to watch.
Does This Mean You Should Act On RBLX?
Our purpose is to inform you with unique data so you make the right investment decisions. That said, betting on a single stock is always risky, no matter which direction you choose.
There is a smarter approach. Since its inception, the Trefis High Quality (HQ) Portfolio has returned 105%, beating the benchmark that combines the three major indices – the S&P 500, S&P Mid-cap, and Russell 2000. And it did so without taking the concentrated risk that comes with do-it-yourself stock picking. If that is how you want to invest, the HQ Portfolio is the place to start.
