Shares of Mettler-Toledo International (MTD) have climbed 22.3% since the close before the company raised its fiscal 2026 forecasts on July 30, 2026, compared with a 3.5% gain for the S&P 500. Buyers appear to be betting that the rest of the year holds up as well. Here is what Mettler-Toledo raised, what the chart shows and what could push it higher.

The Guidance Raise At Mettler-Toledo
Management lifted its fiscal 2026 adjusted earnings per share forecast to a range of $47.15 to $47.50, up from the $46.05 to $46.70 projected in its May 7 release. That is a raise of about 2% at the midpoint. Management also moved its local currency sales growth forecast for the year up to about 4% to 5%, from about 4%.
The new forecast arrived alongside second-quarter results. Adjusted earnings per share for the quarter ended June rose 14% from a year earlier, the company said. Excluding a one-time tariff refund to customers, local currency sales increased 6%. Next to those quarterly results, the raise to the full-year forecast is modest.
What We See In Mettler-Toledo’s Chart
The chart points the same way as the forecast. Mettler-Toledo closed at $1,698.04 on November 3, 2026. That price sits 12.8% above its 50-day average, the average closing price over the last 50 trading days. That 50-day average, at $1,505.70, is above the 200-day average of $1,339.58, the average close over the last 200 trading days, leaving the trend intact on both measures.
The initial reaction did not stand out, however. The stock rose 2.0% over the two sessions around the release, when investors received the quarter and the new forecast together, while the S&P 500 gained 2.4%. Most of the gain came afterward. From July 31 to November 3, the shares rose 19.9%, against 1.1% for the index.
Is There Room Left To Run For Mettler-Toledo?
The share price has moved further than the profit reported so far. Mettler-Toledo is priced at 37.7 times its last twelve months of earnings, against 28.4 times on those same twelve months at the end of June. So investors are now paying for profits the company has forecast but not yet reported.
The September quarter is the first to be reported since the raise. Management forecast adjusted earnings per share of $12.00 to $12.15 for the period, against $11.46 in the June quarter. That forecast is 8% to 9% above the same quarter a year earlier. Mettler-Toledo is expected to report the results on November 5, 2026.
In fiscal 2025, the larger part of the business was the slower one. Laboratory made up 55.7% of company revenue that year. The Industrial segment grew faster, advancing 6.0% against 2.5% for Laboratory, so a pickup in Laboratory sales would add the most to the company’s total.
You would want to see the remaining quarters in 2026 come in above the raised forecast, and Laboratory sales grow faster than they did last year. A quarter below that forecast, or a share price falling back under its 50-day and 200-day averages, would leave management’s numbers and the chart pointing in different directions. Earnings per share for the September quarter, against management’s forecast, is the number to watch when Mettler-Toledo reports in November 2026.
