Fox (FOXA) stock rose 6.9% on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, while the S&P 500 gained 0.4%. The rise occurred one session after Fox reported its fiscal first-quarter 2027 results on November 2. Both adjusted earnings per share and revenue came in above analysts’ estimates. Yet the stock slipped 0.8% on the day of the report itself. So what exactly did Fox report?

Fox Beat Estimates On Earnings And Revenue
Fox earned $2.54 a share on an adjusted basis in the quarter ended September 2026, beating the $2.02 analysts expected. Revenue totaled $4.6 billion, coming in above the $4.32 billion estimate. On the November 2 call, management said revenue grew 22% from a year earlier.
Management said advertising revenue rose 47%, driven by the company’s broadcast of the FIFA Men’s World Cup and healthy trends across the rest of Fox. Political advertising has passed $350 million, a figure management called a record for a midterm cycle. Management added that Tubi grew its revenue 35%.
Fox Rose Far More Than Communication Services Stocks
The Communication Services sector fund, XLC, gained 1.2% that session. The two other broadcasting companies worth $2 billion or more also rose, recording a median gain of 2.4%. They are Sirius XM, up 4.2%, and Nexstar Media, up 0.6%.
Most of Fox’s listed peers moved far less. Disney gained 0.9%, while Comcast fell 0.8%. Sinclair rose 3.9%. Fox rose more than the sector fund, the other broadcasters, and each of these peers. You can read the session as Fox’s own move, not its group’s.
Where Does Fox Stock Stand After This Gain?
Such a large daily rise is rare for Fox. Only one session in the prior 365 days brought a rise at least this large, and the latest move of this size in either direction was a 16.8% fall on June 15, 2026.
Over the twelve months to November 3, Fox stock returned 4.8%, compared with an 11.9% return for the S&P 500. The shares closed at $67.10, below their highest close of the past year, $76.11 on January 6, 2026. The stock hit its lowest close, $48.79, on June 23, 2026. Over the three months to November 3, Fox stock returned 14.9%, while the S&P 500 lost 1.7%.
On the November 2 call, management said advertising trends were still healthy in fiscal Q2 2027. Fox is expected to report that quarter in February 2027. Advertising revenue is the figure to watch in that report.
