Shares of CoreWeave (CRWV) have lost 56.9% over the past twelve months, trailing the 17.4% return of the S&P 500. This decline occurred even as the AI cloud company more than doubled its revenue. At $61.12, the shares now trade near their lowest close of the year. So, after a fall this deep, is it still too early to buy CoreWeave?

Is CoreWeave Stock Cheap After Its Fall?

CoreWeave stock is far cheaper than a year ago based on sales, but the underlying business has moved from an operating profit to an operating loss. This makes the lower price fair rather than a bargain. The shares currently trade at 4.4 times the last twelve months of revenue, down from 18.9 times a year earlier. Over the same stretch, CoreWeave went from an operating margin of 6.3% to an operating loss of 3.0% of revenue.

Earnings and cash point in different directions. The company lost money over those twelve months, making its price-to-earnings ratio meaningless, yet it brought in $6.9 billion of cash from operations. CoreWeave spends far more than that to build its infrastructure, however: free cash flow was negative $13.7 billion. Total debt equals 153.2% of CoreWeave’s market value, compared with 20.0% for the S&P 500.

Buyers at this price acquire a large book of signed contracts. On the August 11 call, management said revenue backlog ended June at $104.2 billion, up 246% from a year earlier.

What Does CoreWeave’s Price Already Count On?

Analysts expect revenue of about $3.62 billion for fiscal Q3 2026, a target that sits just above the top of management’s guide of $3.45 billion to $3.6 billion. This makes the bar for the next report a beat, rather than the guide itself. Management already guided to a large step up from the $2.58 billion CoreWeave reported for the April to June quarter.

The current share price appears to assume management delivers on its August statements. CoreWeave raised prices by about 25% across its products in July, and management said its near-term capacity remains effectively sold out. Management also raised its full-year 2026 revenue guide to $12.4 billion to $13.2 billion.

CoreWeave Reports Fiscal Q3 2026 In November

CoreWeave is expected to report its results for fiscal Q3 2026, the July to September quarter, on or around November 11, 2026. This report will be the first to include the price increase from July.

If revenue for the quarter lands below the bottom of the guide, buying today will have been too early. Revenue that falls short of analyst expectations without missing the guide would leave the case for waiting intact. Only a beat of the analyst forecast, paired with another raise to the full-year guide, would end the case for waiting. Whether it is too early to buy CoreWeave depends on fiscal Q3 2026 revenue against both management’s guide and the $3.62 billion analysts expect, the numbers to watch on or around November 11.

And it did so without taking the concentrated risk that comes with do-it-yourself stock picking. If that is how you want to invest, the HQ Portfolio is the place to start.
