Tapestry (TPR) stock rose 7.1% on Thursday, November 5, 2026, while the S&P 500 fell 4.4%. The owner of Coach and Kate Spade posted the gain the same day it reported fiscal first-quarter results. Earnings and revenue both came in above analyst estimates, and the company raised its forecast for the year. So how far ahead of expectations was the quarter, and what did management change for the rest of the year?

Tapestry Beat Both Estimates And Raised Full-Year Guidance
For the quarter ended September 26, 2026, Tapestry reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.82, against an analyst estimate of $1.56. Revenue came to $1.89 billion, above the $1.85 billion analysts expected.
Revenue grew 11.1% from a year earlier, and that growth came from Coach. Management said on the November 5 call that Coach’s revenue grew 16% at constant currency. Kate Spade’s revenue fell 10%, in line with the company’s own guidance. Management said the quarter’s beat came from growth in North America, and that the company’s growth is coming from leather goods.
For the full fiscal year, management now expects adjusted earnings per share of $8.25 to $8.35, up from its earlier outlook of $7.80 to $7.90.
Did Tapestry’s Peers Rise Too?
No. Capri, Ralph Lauren, PVH, G-III Apparel and VF, the companies on Tapestry’s Trefis peer list, all fell that session. Ralph Lauren, which raised its annual revenue forecast the same day, fell 7.3%. The SPDR fund for consumer discretionary stocks, XLY, fell 3.8%. Tapestry moved on its own, against its sector and every company on its peer list.
Where Does Tapestry Stock Stand Now?
A one-day rise this large is rare for Tapestry. The stock had risen this much or more in only two sessions over the prior 365 days. Its last move at least this large in either direction was a 16.5% fall on August 13, 2026. That fall came three days after the stock’s 12-month closing high of $164.78 on August 10.
Returns over several periods show how the stock got here. Over the three months to November 5, Tapestry is still down 17.0%, even after an 18.3% gain over the past month. Over 12 months it returned 27.7%, against 9.9% for the S&P 500. Its close of $134.17 on November 5 sits below that August high and well above its 12-month closing low of $98.81 on November 6, 2025.
Tapestry is expected to report its fiscal second-quarter results in February 2027. Revenue growth at constant currency for that quarter, against management’s guide of 5% to 6%, is the number to watch.
