SiTime (SITM) stock has fallen 34.9% since October 6, 2026, when it set its highest close of the past month. The shares ended October 22 at $462.72. A drop this steep in just over two weeks tempts buyers who wanted in at a lower price. SiTime stock has dropped this hard before. How did buyers of those earlier drops do a year later?

Most Buyers Of SiTime’s Past Drops Made Money
Most of them came out ahead. Since November 2019, SiTime stock has recorded eight drops of more than 30% within six weeks of trading. The latest decline in July 2026 is too recent to judge. Five of the other seven instances left the stock higher a year later. At the median result, $10,000 invested on the day of the drop was worth about $11,800. Both drops that lost money occurred in 2022, and the worse of them left the stock 49% lower a year on.
That gain came with a further fall and a wait. After a typical drop, SiTime’s lowest close over the following year was 27.1% below the price on the day of the decline. The best price arrived a median 214 days after the drop, or about seven months.

SiTime’s Sales Are Surging, But Profit Is Still Thin
The business itself is growing fast. SiTime’s revenue reached $468 million over the four quarters to June 2026, up 83.0% from a year earlier. Profit has not kept pace with those sales. SiTime posted an operating margin of 0.188% over the same four quarters, compared with 18.5% for the S&P 500. The company produced a 10.6% operating margin in the June 2026 quarter alone, following an operating loss in the same quarter of 2025. Cash provides the firmer figure: operations brought in $128 million over the four quarters.
Buyers still pay a high price for that growth after the drop. At the October 22 close, SiTime stock traded at 26.2 times its sales, against 3.1 times for the S&P 500.
SiTime has also taken on a large purchase. On July 1, the company closed its acquisition of the Renesas timing business, paying for the deal in part with $1.35 billion of convertible notes due 2031. Debt stood at $1,327 million at the end of June, against $1,921 million in cash and short-term investments, but management said the note proceeds were then used to pay the cash part of the deal. Management called carve-outs of this scale complex and said SiTime is relying on Renesas for production for the next several quarters. For the September 2026 quarter, management guided to revenue of $285 million to $295 million, with about $85 million coming from the acquired business.
What Must Go Right For SiTime Buyers Today?
A buyer today needs this drop to follow the five that paid rather than the two that lost money in 2022. Buyers of past drops also usually saw the stock fall further at some point in the following year. The business has to earn a price many times the market’s on sales, from an operating margin near zero over the past year. Furthermore, the acquired Renesas business has to add sales while Renesas still makes and tests its products.
Revenue from the acquired Renesas business and SiTime’s operating margin are the figures to watch when SiTime reports its September 2026 quarter.
