Accenture (ACN) stock gained 49.9% from May 9 to November 5, 2026, while the S&P 500 slipped 0.08% over the same period. The shares logged their biggest one-day gain of the past year on October 1, climbing 15.8% when Accenture reported its fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 results and gave its outlook for fiscal 2027. What did that report show about the business?

From June’s Low To October’s Forecast-Beating Report
Accenture posted fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $18.7 billion, up 7% in local currency. Management said this result topped the high end of its guided range. Clients signed $22.2 billion of new bookings during the quarter. Managed services generated $9.4 billion of the quarter’s revenue and booked a record $12.8 billion of new work.
The six-month gain also includes a steep drop. Shares fell 18.0% on June 18, the day of Accenture’s fiscal third-quarter earnings call, and closed at their lowest level of the past year on June 30. On that call, management lowered its full-year revenue growth outlook to 3% to 4% in local currency.
Most of the six-month gain came after the October report. From October 7 to November 5, the shares returned 35.9%, while the S&P 500 lost 5.7%. Counting the report day itself, the share price is up 45.8% since the September 30 close. Accenture’s peers also rose, though less: Cognizant gained 30% from May 9 to November 5.
The S&P 500’s 5.7% slide included a 4.4% drop on November 5. Here’s how the market did after 21 days like it.
Accenture Now Trades At Nearly Double June’s P/E
At the end of June, Accenture stock traded at 9.8 times its twelve-month earnings, its lowest quarterly reading since fiscal 2017. At the November 5 close, it traded at 19.1 times, still below the S&P 500’s 22.9 times.
Accenture’s profit grew far less than its share price. Net income for fiscal 2026 was $8.37 billion, against $7.68 billion in fiscal 2025. The share price rise since June therefore comes mostly from a higher price on Accenture’s profit, and only a little from a larger profit.
Management Still Expects Growth Near Last Year’s Pace
Management expects fiscal 2027 revenue to grow 3% to 6% in local currency, a range centered just below the 5% local-currency growth Accenture posted in fiscal 2026. Reported growth had already eased, with fiscal 2026 revenue rising 6.5% against 7.4% in fiscal 2025. In other words, Accenture’s growth is about where it was before its shares rose, or a little slower. At its October 14 Investor Day, though, Accenture outlined a multiyear strategy aimed at faster growth, and some analysts raised their price targets afterward.
For the first quarter of fiscal 2027, management expects revenue growth of 2% to 6% in local currency. Local-currency revenue growth against that range is the number to watch when Accenture next reports, expected in December 2026.
