What To Expect From VMware’s First Quarter Earnings
VMware (NYSE:VMW) is scheduled to announce its Q1 fiscal 2019 earnings on Thursday, May 31. The virtualization and cloud computing provider has demonstrating strength in its business in recent years, with fast-growing segments such as network virtualization, hybrid cloud, hyper converged software and vSAN driving growth. The company reported strong demand for new license bookings, which drove product revenues. Similarly, services revenues also grew at a similar pace through the first half of the fiscal year, which eventually slowed down to single digits in the latter half. This trend is likely to continue through the current fiscal year as well.
For the first fiscal quarter, we have summarized the company’s guided segment revenues and operating margin on our interactive dashboard platform. While revenues are expected to grow steadily at mid to high single digits through the year, we expect operating expenses, particularly SG&A expenses, could continue to decrease moderately. As a result, we forecast a flat adjusted EBITDA margin for Q1 and through FY’19 over the comparable prior year. We have also added our expectations for net income and EPS for the quarter.
