November turned out to be a good month for United Continental (NYSE:UAL) operationally. This goes to show that no matter the number of PR debacles United gets itself into, the company manages to keep business running as usual.

Despite the tough weather conditions faced by the company in the last quarter, the airline has managed to hold its ground, not letting anything deter it from its plans. The month recorded a notable 5.1% growth in traffic (revenue passenger miles) y-o-y. The figure was driven by the restored traffic growth of about 1.7% on the international front. Consolidated capacity (available seat miles) increased at a significant 5.1% in comparison to the same month last year. Load factor came in flat at 81.8%.

Unlike its competitors, United expects to post negative unit revenues in the upcoming quarter. For Q4, the company sees the key metric to be down 1-3% when compared to the fourth quarter of 2016.
