I’ve got a powerful week of moneymaking research cued up for you. Today, we’re grateful to have exclusive content from guest columnist, Tom Anderson. Tom is a legit tech insider, and sees a big opportunity born from Amazon’s latest product launch.
Expect an interview with the world’s foremost resource expert, Rick Rule, later this week. I’m happy to report that Rick is now officially part of the Wall Street Daily family.
I’ll also be breaking an insider trading story. Even I can’t believe the heist two guys from Baltimore, Maryland tried to pull off. (Hint: They failed miserably!) ~Robert Williams, Publisher
From the desk of tech insider, Tom Anderson…
I spent the first seven years of my career at investment banks – banging my head against the wall, pouring over financial statements, and analyzing EPS trends and relative valuation.
Not to say this was a waste of time.
Strong fundamentals are key to ensuring that our stocks have a solid foundation.
But over time, I discovered something that boosts your gains even faster . . .
It’s something well worth the exhaustive digging it takes to find.
What is it that I so relentlessly dig for?
A company dynamic powerful enough to increase profits much quicker than anyone is expecting.
If you can pinpoint such a dynamic, you shouldn’t have any problem getting in ahead of the significant run-up in shares.
So I’m constantly on the lookout for these hidden growth drivers – and figuring out how to effectively use them to my ultimate advantage.
Well, one such “secret” is hiding inside Amazon’s (AMZN) latest announcement . . .
Let’s take a look . . .
A Power Play in the Digital Content Space
Companies like Netflix (NFLX) have proved that selling digital content can be a fantastic business.
So when Amazon decided it wanted to join the fray, the company knew it needed to inject itself into the flow in a big way.
That’s where its new product, the Fire TV, comes in.
Amazon launched the Fire TV last Wednesday. It’s essentially a set-top box that allows you to stream online entertainment to your TV – much like the Roku Box or Apple TV.
Yet it boasts one significant difference . . .
It comes with a remote that you can talk to.
And taking a closer look at this feature is exactly how I found the secret growth driver behind Amazon’s product launch.
The Hidden Champion Behind Fire TV
The secret I’m talking about involves Nuance Communications (NUAN) – the leading player in voice recognition technology.
If you’re a longtime reader of Wall Street Daily, you’ve read about Nuance before, since it’s widely believed to be the backbone of Apple’s Siri iPhone application.
Now, it’s worth mentioning that Amazon already purchased a voice recognition company of its own back in January 2013.
But since Nuance is such a premier player in the space, I knew Amazon would need Nuance if it wanted to ensure that its Fire TV was equipped with the best technology possible.
And sure enough, after digging a bit deeper, I discovered that Amazon is, indeed, a Nuance customer.
There wasn’t a press release about it, so it’s understandable that not everyone knows the truth. But Nuance did list Amazon among all the other customers in its quarterly report.
I’m not the only one who sees the truth, though . . .
Carl Icahn is clued in, too, as evidenced by the fact that he increased his stake to nearly 19% of the company.
And as the sell side analysts – who catch wind of Nuance’s true potential – begin to reverse course, estimates and ratings will come up soon after.
Bottom line: The Fire TV may be a hit – or it may be a dud. Either way, the product launch will prove to be very meaningful for Nuance. And once others catch on to this secret potential, we could see its share price soaring as a result in the months ahead . . .
