Master Card (NYSE: MA) has seen its expenses grow by close to 35% over the 2011-2015 period. The two biggest contributors to this increase have been the increase in rebates and incentives paid to customers and the increase in general and administrative expenses. The former has increased by almost 80% while the latter has grown by around 33%. As a result, the contribution of rebates and incentives to overall expenses has grown from 32% in 2011 to 41.6% in 2015.
