The Estee Lauder Companies’ flagship brand, Estee Lauder, recently announced a lipstick advisor in the form of a chatbot that will help customers in finding lip shades of their choice. Estee Lauder partnered with ModiFace to create the lipstick chatbot that will work on Facebook Messenger.
How Will The Chatbot Help Increase Lipstick Sales For Estee Lauder?
The chatbot will help beauty users to search and virtually try out its full range of lip shades, each of which has been shade matched by ModiFace to give the most accurate shade closest to the real lip color. It will also allow users to take a quiz, the outcome of which will help the chatbot to provide personalized recommendations to the users based on their choice of color and texture. Additionally, users can take photos of any object and ask the chatbot to search for a lipstick of the same color as the object.

The partnership between Estee Lauder and ModiFace goes back to May 2017 when the premium beauty company launched an augmented reality based product to try on, on the esteelauder.com website. Modiface’s patented facial recognition and augmented reality based simulation technology are some of the things that Estee Lauder is using to its benefit to lure more beauty users to its products.
With the ease of selecting lipsticks of their preferred shades and then virtually trying them on, the propensity to buy more of those might increase significantly. If Estee Lauder continues with the same innovations in its other makeup products as well, there might be a significantly positive impact on its makeup sales in the coming years.
