What?

Disney (NYSE:DIS) plans to raise pricing on its ESPN Plus streaming service to $7 per month or $70 for a year, up from $6 per month and $60 per year currently.

Why?

The increase comes after ESPN unveiled a series of sports rights deals for the platform, including contracts for NFL and NHL coverage and the Wimbledon tennis tournament.

So What?

Disney also recently raised pricing on its flagship Disney+ streaming offering from $7 per month to $8. The recent pricing moves indicate that the entertainment behemoth is getting more confident about its streaming offerings, coming to see them as a legitimate source of revenue growth.
