Forecast Of The Day: Costco’s U.S. Revenue Per Square Foot
What?
Trefis expects Costco’s (NASDAQ:COST) Revenue per Square Foot for U.S. Warehouses to rise from around $1,220 in 2020 to about $1,380 in 2021 and about $1,450 in 2022.
Why?
Costo has benefited through Covid-19 as consumer dollars were directed toward goods rather than experiences. We expect growth to remain strong in 2021 and 2022, as consumers spend more at brick and mortar stores. Moreover, Costco’s wide variety of inventory, omnichannel capabilities, and discounted prices should enable it to keep expanding going forward.
So What?
However, we think the projected growth is already priced into Costo stock, which has gained about 30% over the past year. We value the stock at about $400 per share, 5% below the market price.
