Adding another social tool to its BeKnown Facebook app, Monster (NYSE:MWW) has recently unveiled a “Jobs Tab” feature, [1] and through this employers will now be able to reach out to more job applicants for free. This is an important development for the company, especially in light of LinkedIn’s (NYSE:LNKD) success in relying on social networking for its own business.

Jobs Tab: How It Helps

The Jobs Tab is essentially an add-on tool, which automatically distributes relevant company (employer) updates and job listings to a company’s Facebook page at no additional cost to the employer. BeKnown is essentially an independent “professional networking” app developed by Monster for Facebook. And now with the Jobs Tab, companies can leverage the “likes” or fans it has on its official Facebook page, some of whom are expected to be potential candidates.

One potential drawback is that the concept of mixing professional and personal networking may act as a deterrent to some employers.

We currently maintain a nearĀ $13 price estimate for Monster stock, which is well above the current market price.
