Adobe Adds Kindle Fire Support to Digital Publishing Suite

Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) has been trying to restructure its business, focusing on the digital media and marketing categories to drive revenue growth in the coming years. It recently launched tablet apps in the Creative Suite, and is also focusing its efforts on HTML 5, instead of Flash to reverse the slowdown in Creative software sales. Its Digital Publishing Suite is comprised primarily of Adobe InDesign, and some other publishing tools, which are a part of Creative Software. It announced that it has added support for publishing content on Amazon‘s (NASDAQ:AMZN) Kindle Fire tablet using the Digital Publishing Suite. [1]

The Kindle Fire, which was launched recently, has been a huge hit and is expected to sell tens of millions of units in 2012. Adobe already offers support for publishing content to Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad, Google‘s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android devices and RIM‘s (NASDAQ:RIMM) Blackberry devices. With support for the Amazon Kindle Fire, the second most popular tablet after the iPad, it now supports almost all major smartphone and tablet platforms.

We expect this move to positively impact sales of Creative Software, which is its most profitable business, and accounts for more than 50% of Adobe’s $35 Trefis price estimate, which stands more than 30% above its current market price. It could also help sales of its SiteCatalyst analytics software, which integrates directly with the Digital Publishing Suite.
