A $10,000 holding in CrowdStrike (CRWD) stock on October 13, 2025 was worth about $19,600 on October 14, 2026. The S&P 500 returned 17.3% over the same dates. During that year, CrowdStrike’s revenue grew faster every quarter while the company positioned itself as the platform for securing AI. Could you have seen the run coming before October 13, 2025?

CrowdStrike Pitched AI Before Its Revenue Picked Up

You could have, partly, and the AI case came first. Executives called CrowdStrike cybersecurity’s “AI-native platform of record” on its November 26, 2024 earnings call. In June 2025, the company added an NVIDIA integration that it said protects over 100,000 large language models.

Yet sales growth at the company was slowing over the same months, dropping from 28.5% in the quarter ended October 2024 to 19.8% in the quarter ended April 2025. On its own, the talk of AI was a promise rather than evidence.

The first sign of faster growth came in the quarter ended July 2025, which CrowdStrike filed on August 28, 2025. Revenue grew 21.3% that quarter, marking the first acceleration after three quarters of slowing. Observers could have read the sign, but it was faint. One quarter is a thin base for a trend. Furthermore, CrowdStrike stock was already rising before the year measured here, climbing 34.3% from April 14 to October 13, 2025.

Investors Paid Up For Every Dollar Of CrowdStrike Revenue

CrowdStrike’s share price rose far faster than its underlying business. The company took in about $5.4 billion of revenue in the twelve months to July 2026, about $1.1 billion more than a year earlier. Yet at the end of September 2026, investors paid 50.0 times that revenue, compared with 28.2 times at the end of September 2025.

The business did continue to accelerate, logging growth of 22.2% in the quarter ended October 2025 and 23.3% in the quarter ended January 2026. Over those same months, CrowdStrike added to its AI products, making Falcon AI Detection and Response generally available on December 15, 2025.

Rivals ran as well, and Fortinet ran further. Fortinet returned 118.6% over the same year, and Palo Alto Networks returned 75.8%. CrowdStrike’s run was not unique.

Is CrowdStrike Still Speeding Up Today?

Only just. Sales rose 25.6% in the three months to April 2026, then 25.8% in the three months to July. The acceleration has nearly stopped. CrowdStrike also posted an operating loss in the latest quarter, equal to 2.3% of revenue.

At the October 14, 2026 close, the stock traded at 47.1 times CrowdStrike’s twelve-month revenue, against 3.1 times for the S&P 500. CrowdStrike’s revenue growth for the quarter ending October 2026 is the figure to watch in the report expected on or around November 30, 2026. Growth above the 25.8% of the quarter to July would suggest the acceleration is still building. Growth below it would suggest it is fading.

Does This Mean You Should Act On CRWD?

Our purpose is to inform you with unique data so you make the right investment decisions. That said, betting on a single stock is always risky, no matter which direction you choose.

There is a smarter approach. Since its inception, the Trefis High Quality (HQ) Portfolio has returned 105%, beating the benchmark that combines the three major indices – the S&P 500, S&P Mid-cap, and Russell 2000. And it did so without taking the concentrated risk that comes with do-it-yourself stock picking. If that is how you want to invest, the HQ Portfolio is the place to start.
