Zynga (NASDAQ:ZNGA) which made a lackluster public debut last week, has made some significant strategic moves in the last couple of weeks. While it continues to launch new games, most of which are faltering, it is also experimenting with various platforms to reduce its dependence on Facebook, which currently accounts for more than 90% of its total revenue. It has already launched multiple games on Google+, as well as Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS and Google‘s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android mobile platforms. It is also working on its own gaming platform – Zynga Direct. Earlier this month, it also launched one of its most popular games – Texas HoldEm Poker, on yet another more platform – Google TV. It is now offering Texas HoldEm Poker as a Google TV app, which is optimized especially for playing with the Google TV remote.

Texas HoldEm Poker accounts for around 28% of Zynga’s $10.20 Trefis price estimate, which stands nearly 7% above its current market price.

Google TV debut expected to have minimal impact on Zynga’s user base

Google TV, which was launched last year, has been a huge flop. It completely failed to take off, and led to major losses for Logitech, Google’s launch partner for Google TV. We don’t expect this move to add significantly to Zynga’s user base. Texas HoldEm Poker current has close to 30 million active users. We expect its user base to expand steadily going forward, as Zynga launches it on more platforms and upgrades the game to add more features.
