(2) Domestic steelmakers have petitioned U.S. trade authorities for the imposition of punitive duties on steel imports, with the final determination of duties expected in 2016. As per the preliminary determination of U.S. Department of Commerce, Chinese steel imports (which account for the majority of U.S. steel imports) will be subject to antidumping duties of 256% in addition to countervailing duties of 236%.
