ComScore recently came out with the U.S. mobile and smartphone market report for the month of July. [1] The report didn’t show any surprises as Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android continued to gain market share with its U.S. smartphone subscriber share increasing from 36% in April this year to around 42% in July this year. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) maintained its second position, with its market share increasing slightly from 26% to 27%. Research in Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) continued with its slide in market share that declined from 26% to 22%. Microsoft’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Phone 7 and Nokia’s (NYSE:NOK) Symbian maintained their #4 and #5 position respectively.
