Leading Chipset maker, Qualcomm  (NYSE:QCOM) reported its Q2 2016 earnings on April 20th. (Fiscal years end with September.) Although revenues and EPS were significantly down on a year-over-year basis, the metrics topped the consensus estimates and the guidance issued by the company. Furthermore, Qualcomm resolved its licensing dispute with LG, which was expected to drive down its revenues by $100 million on a quarterly basis going forward. However, the company admitted that it is still seeing under-reporting of sales by at least 44% in China and it might take longer for it to resolve the issue completely, possibly beyond FY 2016. Below we analyse the key metrics as reported by Qualcomm in Q2’16 earnings:
