Nokia Earnings: Revenues Fall But Operating Income Surges
Nokia’s Q1 net revenue fell 9%, mainly due to greater-than-expected weakness in the wireless infrastructure market and the absence of non-recurring adjustments to accrued net sales from existing contracts, revenue share related to previously divested intellectual property rights (IPR), and IPR divestments.
Operating income, on the other hand, increased 25% due to an improvement in gross margins and lower research and development expenses.
