New Developments
Netflix
Starz cable network has decided not to renew its content licensing deal with Netflix, when the current deal expires in Feb 2012. This will imply removal of some Disney and Sony content. [1]
Sirius XM
Sirius XM is offering a two week free trial for customers after which it will offer a discount of 60% for 5 month period if the users decide to continue the subscription. [2]
Disney
Disney finally opened its new resort at Hawaii. The resort has been in news for issues surrounding wrongly estimating the costs which led to firing of some executives. However it seems that things are on track now. [3]
Time Warner
Time Warner’s channel CNN has acquired Zite. Zite is an iPad app that offers users a personalized news stream. The move could help Time Warner gain valuable insights into consumer news reading habits. [4]
