Barrick Gold and Newmont Mining are two of the largest gold producers in the world. These two companies also command two of the largest gold reserve bases in the world. Taking their current reserve bases into account, Barrick and Newmont have 17.5 and 14.6 years worth of gold production that can be extracted at their respective 2016 production rates. However, these figures are only indicative of the production capacity of the current reserve bases of the two companies. Both Barrick and Newmont will continue to add to their respective reserves through exploration activities as well as the acquisition route.
