Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU) reported its Q2 2016 earnings on March 30th. All figures (summarized below) were within company guidance, though revenues came in at the low end of the guided range. As expected, the company’s performance was impacted by seasonality, the timing of product launches, and DRAM and NAND pricing pressure driven primarily by the PC end market. Micron expects the ongoing technology transitions (across DRAM and NAND) to generate stronger bit growth and cost reductions in the second half of calendar year 2016. The company is confident that things will turnaround in the second half of the year as new products with more efficient manufacturing on advanced nodes hit the market.
