Microsoft’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Bing search engine is a distant second with only 2.4% share in the global internet search market.
However, most of the searches for the company originate from the U.S. As a result, revenue per (1000) searches (RPS) for Bing is significantly higher at $33.40.
The convergence of desktop RPS with mobile RPS has resulted in a decline in blended RPS. This decline is further accentuated by the advent of the ad programmatic platform, which is efficiently matching advertisers with ad inventory. We project this trend to continue in H2-2016.
