What Led To Guess’ Revenue And EBITDA Decline Over The Last Five Years?
Guess has been struggling with its financial performance over the last few years. On account of the macroeconomic challenges faced in its major regions of operations, Guess, like other players in the retail industry, had been adversely hit. This, coupled with declining store traffic in North America and currency headwinds, had impaired the company’s top line and bottom line growth. In order to remedy the situation, in mid-2015, Guess appointed Mr. Victor Herrero (the executive responsible for building a $4 billion business for Inditex in Asia) as its Chief Executive Officer. Guess has started implementing some of the strategies laid out by its new CEO, and the company’s recovery is expected to have been set in motion.
