Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) has seen its market share in the North America passenger cars market decline from 12.0% to 9.8% over the last five years (the 2011-2015 period). We expect the Detroit-based auto maker’s market share to continue to stay in the same range over the next five years, with slight improvement towards the end of the period. However, if the same trend continues, the company could lose over 5.5% of its valuation according to our estimates. Instead, if the company reverses the trend and returns to the same level of market share it had 5 years ago, its valuation could increase by 5%.
