How Will The OptionsHouse Acquisition Impact E-Trade’s Trading Volumes?
Earlier this week, E*Trade Financial (NASDAQ:ETFC) announced its intention to acquire Aperture New Holdings, the parent company of OptionsHouse, for $725 million. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2016. We expect the acquisition to boost E-Trade’s customer base and Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs), especially options-based DARTs, as shown in the table below.
