Delta Airline (NYSE:DAL) released its second quarter earnings on 14th July 2016. Despite missing the consensus estimate for earnings and revenue, Delta’s stock price was seen on an upward trajectory. This can be explained by the carrier’s decision to revise its capacity guidance downwards, in order to manage the increasing fuel expenses and improve its unit revenues. Moreover, Delta increased its capital expenditure guidance to address upcoming fleet retirements, while continuing to reduce 50-seaters and upgrade the domestic fleet. As a result, we have revised downward our price estimate for Delta from $51 per share, to $44 per share.
