The three major Chinese carriers posted relatively mixed operating data for the month of April. Market leader China Mobile (NYSE:CHL) had a lackluster month, reporting just 0.9 million net subscriber additions, marking its worst performance since June 2015. However, the carrier’s 4G migrations remained strong, with a total of about 15 million customers signing up for the service.  China Unicom (NYSE:CHU) also saw its net adds decline slightly month-over-month.  China Telecom (NYSE:CHA), the smallest of the three carriers, fared the best, adding a solid 1.5 million customers, driven by its strong 4G net additions and expanding coverage.
