Ameritrade’s revenue grew 25% over the last five years, mainly due to strong interest income earned on deposits, loans and securities and higher trading commission. On the other hand, operating expenses grew 19% in the last five years, owing to higher compensation and benefits expenses. Despite the rise in operating costs, the company’s EBITDA rose significantly during the period due to the surge in revenues which outpaced the rise in costs.
